Adams Tears ACL; Will Miss Entire Season

If you've followed the Packers at all this preseason, it's no secret to you that they've sustained a good amount of injuries.

From rookies Jared Abbrederis and Colt Lyerla to Brandon Bostick, Don Barclay, and J.C. Tretter, the Pack couldn't seem to stay healthy during the last month, a trend that has to end eventually.

Unfortunetaly, though, that eventual occurrence won't come today, with ESPN.com's Rob Demovsky reporting that rookie Tackle Adams will miss all of 2014 with a torn ACL. 

No, this loss won't ruin Green Bay's year, but yes, it will force them to look for a new offensive lineman, something that must be annoying considering Adams looked alright during his time on the field.

Tretter Out "Multiple Weeks" With Knee Injury

In what can almost be surprised as an unsurprising happening, Packers Center J.C. Tretter will miss "multiple weeks" with a serious knee injury, Team Head Coach Mike McCarthy told ESPN.com earlier today. 

Tretter, a second-year player out of Cornell, was supposed to be Green Bay's starter this season, something that obviously won't happen now. 

So, as The Packers' Official Blog points out, recent fifth round draft pick Cory Linsley will likely be the guy to take over Tretter's position, a change that probably won't make a huge difference in how things play out yet is still definitely worth knowing. 

Raji Out For Season After Tearing Bicep

Packers Nose Tackle B.J. Raji will miss the entire 2014 season after tearing his bicep in yesterday's win over the Raiders, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. 

The injury, the first serious one of Raji's career, is expected to take 4-6 months of recovery, according to The Press-Gazette's Ryan Wood.

Raji, 28, signed a one-year, $4 million deal with Green Bay earlier this summer, just months after declining a contract worth five times that.

No, that fact doesn't make this wound any better, but yes, it does make it more tolerable, as losing a guy worth little for a campaign is obviously not as bad as one worth much.

Packers RT Bulaga Looks Ready For 2014

Packers Right Tackle Brian Bulaga appears to be ready to play in 2014, the Green Bay Press-Gazette's Mike Vandermause reports. 

Bulaga, who missed all of last season with a partially torn ACL, often lined up at his normal position in this year's minicamp, a strong indication that he's ready to return to the field.

Prior to getting hurt last summer, the veteran also was out for the second half of 2012, making the signs of his improvement something to get excited about.

Bulaga, who has been with the team since 2010, has appeared in 37 games for the Pack over the last 4 seasons, with 33 of them being starts.

Lacy Saddened By Loss Of Franklin

After hearing the news that Johnathan Franklin was leaving the team today, Packers RB Eddie Lacy was pretty upset.

"We were definitely sad," Lacy told PackersNews.com. "He shot everybody in the running back group a text and it just makes you cherish the moments that you get to play. We came in together, we got to know each other real good and we spent a lot of time together. He was just starting, and just like that, as fast as you get it, it can be taken away."

In last year's draft, Lacy and Franklin were taken out of Alabama and UCLA, with the two of them each showing potential during the regular season.

Packers release OL Greg Van Roten

According to NFLTradeRumors.com, the Packers have released Offensive Lineman Greg Van Roten. Van Roten, an undrafted free agent out of Penn, has been in the league for two years now (both in Green Bay), yet has played in just a total of 10 games (7 in 2012, 3 in 2013) due to injuries. 

For the last two years, Van Roten has made a decent annual salaray of $480k, which was scheduled to go up to $570k for the upcoming 2014 season. So yea, I guess this is a good move by the Packers. They're not getting anything out of the guy, so they might as well just cut him to save a little extra cash.

Packers place CB Casey Hayward on IR

Well, the Packers injury problems just seem to get worse every day. As today, it was announced that CB Casey Hayward, who has really struggled this year, has been placed on the IR, ending his season. As I just said, Hayward has struggled this year, but still, he's a starter. I'd rather he be healthy. 

Hopefully, Hayward's backup will fill in nicely. I don't know who that is, but he better be good. The Pack's defense is terrible right now, so they need to start getting some production from it. I don't care how, they just to need to start giving up less points.
