Packers Reportedly Work Out Former Redskins RB Lache Seastrunk

The Packers have reportedly worked out former Redskins Running Back Lache Seastrunk, CBS DC reports. 

Seastrunk, 23, was drafted by Washington in the sixth round of this year's draft, putting up a solid preseason for them during the past month.

Still, since the numbers he collected weren't quite good enough for a roster spot Seastrunk was cut by the team last week, the reason why this whole thing happened.

The Packers, 0-1, are currently carrying three running backs (Eddie Lacy, DaJuan Harris, and James Starks) on their roster, a fact that makes their trying out of Seastrunk a little strange.

Packers to Use Cobb on Punt Returns This Season

The Packers will use star Wide Receiver Randall Cobb on punt returns this season, the Green Bay Press Gazette reports.

Sharing the duties of the role with Cobb, excitedly, will be speedy RB DaJuan Harris, who was hurt all of last year but has excelled during the last month.

Cobb, 24, struggled on returns in 2013, often muffing high kicks in a recurring annoyance.

Still, since he is pretty quick on his feet that risk definitely seems to be one worth taking, even if doing so could (again, could; we don't know how much he's improved) occasionally result in turnovers.

Notes from Packers' 31-21 Win Over the Raiders

Some notes from the Packers' 31-21 win tonight over the Raiders:

Aaron Rodgers. During his two quarter performance, Rodgers wasn't really as sharp as usual, but still, he did do pretty well overall, completing 9 of his 20 passes for 139 yards and 2 TDs.

Dajuan Harris. Harris easily led the Pack in rushing, racking up 56 yards on 12 carries for a solid 4.7-per-play average.

Richard Rodgers. Green Bay's other guy named Rodgers didn't actually do much, but since he did still collect 2 receptions and 40 yards it seems reasonable to name him the TE of the night. 

Julius Peppers. So far this preseason, Peppers hasn't been as sharp as the Pack would like, something that definitely changed in this evening's W, with Peppers impressively recording 3 tackles and a sack. 

Notes From Packers' 21-7 Win Over The Rams

Some notes from the Packers' 21-7 win over the Rams this afternoon:

Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers looked like his usual self today, completing 11/13 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown.

Mason Crosby. Crosby continued his great summer in this W, successfully converting both a 31 and a 49 yard field goal while also making a pair of extra points.

DaJuan Harris. Harris led Green Bay with 32 rushing yards on 7 carries this afternoon.

Scott Tolzein. Tolzein wasn't necessarily great during his few drives, but since he did complete 10/15 passes for 107 yards you could definitely appreciate his performance. 

Notes From Packers' 20-16 Loss to Titans

Some notes from the Packers' preseason-opening, 20-16 loss tonight to the Titans:

Scott Tolzein. In this evening's contest, surprisingly, Aaron Rodgers didn't play his normal one series, but that doesn't mean his position wasn't still fun to watch, with Scott Tolzein completing 8 of his 12 passes for 124 yards.

James Starks. Despite getting just 6 carries, Green Bay's backup for at least the next two years put up some pretty good numbers during this defeat, with his yard total reaching an impressive 49.

Dajuan Harris. Playing in his first game since 2012, Harris was also solid when it came to rushing the ball in this one, racking up 18 yards on 7 carries.

Mason Crosby. Crosby didn't do much tonight, but since he did make a go-ahead 32 yard field goal in the fourth quarter he did technically contribute.

Richard Rodgers and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix: Caught one pass for 10 yards and collected three tackles, respectively. 

Rival Executive Believes Packers' Backfield is "The Best It's Ever Looked"

After Johnathan Franklin's career ended a few weeks ago, some Packers fans became convinced his loss would seriously hurt their backfield.

Franklin, a 2013 draft pick who rarely played last year, provided them depth if Eddie Lacy was to get hurt, an underrated advantage.

Still, according to an executive in personnel on another team, the Pack's running game is "the best it's ever looked" going into 2014, something recently told to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Earlier this offseason, the Packers re-signed FB John Kuhn, essentially creating a potentially-great quad, with Lacy, James Starks, and Dajuan Harris also carrying a lot of positives.

McCarthy Sees Harris as a Potential Returner

Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy sees Running Back Dajuan Harris as a potential returner, Packers.com Writer Mike Spofford reports.

According to McCarthy, Harris, who was hurt for all of last season, possesses convenient size and strength, something that could help him a lot if he were to get the role.

Due to the recent emergence of Eddie Lacy, Harris likely won't be able to play his usual position much in 2014, possibly making this news the big break he needs in order to remain relevant, an attribute all players require when they begin to get outshined on the roster.
