Per a report from @jrehor, Jermichael Finley is going to have a cervical fusion at C3/4. Bit higher than Manning's, but identical surgery. That C3/4 area is also the same area where Collins had surgery. Mark Chmura says that Finley cannot move his neck. As much as he might want to resume his career, the Packers might not take the chance on him.

Jermichael Finley Is Having Surgery And It Might End His Career
Ever since he was taken off the field on a stretcher, I've been expecting that TE Jermichael Finley will never play another game for the Green Bay Packers. I've seen too many neck injuries end careers like those of S Tim Lewis, WR Sterling Sharpe, TE Mark Chmura, S Gary Berry, WR Terrance Murphy, OL Tony Palmer, S Nick Collins, and maybe S Sean Richardson.

If he really is done, then who's up next? Is Quarless just gonna take over or will they get somebody else next year?
Shame. Not my favorite Packer of all time, but he was the most talented, athletic TE I think I've every seen don the Green and Gold.
I'll never forget that magical game at Arizona in 2009 when he set Packer record yards in a post-season game (I believe). Quoting wikipedia: "On January 10, 2010, Finley posted an historic performance in the Packers playoff bout with the Arizona Cardinals, catching six passes for 159 yards, the second most yards amassed by a tight end in playoff history behind Kellen Winslow's performance in The Epic in Miami."
He was just 23 years old in that game and the "sky's the limit" when it came J-Mike.
All the best to him in his future endeavors.
Finley did show so much promise in 2009 and early 2010. He wasn't the same after his knee injury, don't know if that has much to do with it.
The Packers seem to add another TE every year (Williams and Taylor in 2011, Bostick in 2012, Stoneburner in 2013) so I'm sure they'll bring in one or two players next year. There's only one college TE right now with a 1st round grade (Jace Amaro of Texas Tech) so they probably won't draft one early.
They'll probably keep Quarless too (2014 free agent who should be inexpensive) and he could finish strong this season though he's only been targeted 13 times in the last three weeks.
