Finley "having his finest training camp," says McCarthy

In an article recently published on PackersNews.com, Packers head coach Mike McCarthy stated that TE Jermichael Finley, who has struggled at times in his career, "has had his finest training camp."

"He's having his finest training camp, I think it's clear-cut," said McCarthy on Tuesday following practice.

When the Pack host Seattle this Friday, I'll be watching Finley closely to see how much he really has improved. Usually in the third preseason game, the starters play a half. If Finley plays well in those 30 minutes, I'll be convinced. But as of now, all he's done is practice. That's not really anything.

McCarthy has been saying nice things about Finley all year, and he doesn't compliment all his players when asked. He'll say something like someone needs to step-up or show consistency, if the player isn't playing well.

Finley did have a big game against the Rams, but he got a big assist in that the Rams left him completely uncovered at least twice.
